Yes, this would need to be added ; if you can add it, I'll write some 
infos about this option in the doc. I think "--ym-mixing" would sound a 
little better (in the sense that it's a "mixing method")

no, only for mixing the 3 volumes of the ym2149 together and get the 
equivalent of the mono signal  (this mono signal could be further mixed 
with dma/dsp on STE/Falcon, but that's not the same problem).

I called this "ST table" because the values are the results of measuring 
the output voltage of the audio signal on an STF while changing volume 
on all 3 voices from 0 to 15 (4096 entries, less to measure if you 
remove permutations).

As Anders said, we had some talks recently on this subject in order to 
improve sound quality with their "Sommarhack 2011 invitro" which uses 
STF and gave much better results when table mixing is used.

I like the 1st one better (everything on a single line seems to better 
suit the way we read from left to right).

I will add the configuration variable asap.
