Hi,
yes it "happens" on a real machine, it's not a bug but a way to get the
raycaster to run at the desired framerate.

If you configured Octlayser (notice the S and not Z (Octalyzer is an Amiga
program)) correct it shouldn't flicker on a real STe. Eg the number of
nops to wait for the lower border removal. It is configurable to be able
to support accelerators. Then it also depends what replay routine you have
loaded. Some replay routines uses the blitter and if the blitter is active
during the time the lower border is going to be removed, it will flicker
that vbl.
