Ok, that was as expected, so  I commited my patch to repo.

I don't understand what could be the problem with the HiColor -> 32-bit
conversions, they use SDL's own SDL_MapRGB() function for each pixel.
That sounds almost like the issue would be with SDL, but at least quick
googling didn't reveal anything...

Uh, is OSX using a different surface format for fullscreen only if it has
different resolution than the desktop?

Could you change VIDEL_DEBUG from 0 to 1 in top of src/falcon/hostscreen.c
and what Hatari outputs when you switch between fullscreen and non-
fullscreen resolutions, with and without --desktop option?

PS. --desktop option works fine now for Linux desktop on Debian even with
Intel HDA graphics as Debian 6.0.1 with a fix to Intel driver driver was
released yesterday.
