Not sure, but newer GEMDOS versions (and maybe FreeMiNT) might call the
handlers directly via the xconin, xconout, etc. system variables (see
http://toshyp.atari.org/de/003004.html#xconin for a list).
That's likely faster than a trap, but harder to intercept from an
emulator point of view.
