A dual licence would be nice, or maybe a written permission by mail to 
use this particular version of the code in Hatari (but even so, I'm not 
sure we can mix gpl / non gpl sources in the same project).
Also Aaron Giles is certainly one of main leaders of the mame project, 
so I don't know if he agrees to change licence for this part and have a 
different licence than the mame project.

Let's see if you can get an answer from him.
