But then you would break all OSes where pkg-config is not
available... that's where this autoconf stuff was still useful for
(beside from satifying the users who were just expecting to always run
a configure script before compiling and installing new software).

No, nothing I can think of right now. But I haven't looked into that
since the last release...

Hehe, did I also tell you about my plans to convert the whole Hatari
source code to C# ? ... nooo, just kidding :-)
